Founded in 1993, Friendship Veterinary Center is a growing, full-service animal hospital supporting both routine/preventative care and emergency cases across Fredericksburg and surrounding Hill Country communities. We take pride in developing personal relationships with our clients, providing compassionate and empathetic care, and supporting their animal’s health and well-being from birth to end-of-life care.
We deliver progressive medical and surgical care tailored to clients’ unique needs and budgets and place a strong focus on client education and communication.
Our state-of-the-art facility opened in 2018 and features multiple examination rooms, an isolation ward, premier surgical and lab equipment and a functional large animal ward with surgery room, pharmacy, hydraulic chute and working pens. The private practice focuses primarily on small animals, but also treats livestock and equine.
Fully equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and friendly support staff, the clinic offers excellent mentoring for students and new graduates and is committed to giving back to the community through spay/neuter services and other philanthropic involvement.

The Associate Veterinarian role is a full-time, on-site position for a licensed veterinarian in Fredericksburg, Texas with clinic ownership buy-in potential.
Duties & requirements:
Perform patient examinations
Develop diagnostic and treatment plans based on history and exam findings
Interpret laboratory results and radiographs
Prescribe medication
Maintain medical records
Communicate with and educate clients
Supervise care of hospitalized patients
Perform surgical and medical procedures appropriate to skill and experience
Perform oral surgery and dental extractions
Supervise and train support staff
Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with other veterinarians
Full-time schedule during clinic hours:
Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Alternating Saturdays 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Emergency schedule/services to be discussed during interviews
Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
License to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Texas
Strong diagnostic skills and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and ability to translate medical concepts, treatment plans and general animal health education to owners
Team player and collaborative spirit
Ability to problem-solve, communicate with clients
Interest and experience with large animals is a plus – especially cattle, pigs, sheep and goats
